Video Production Microcredential
Master the art of visual storytelling with this 12-credit graduate certification. Designed for journalists, content creators, and nonprofit professionals, this program builds foundational and advanced skills in:
- Camera operation
- Lighting
- Video shooting and editing
- Documentary and visual storytelling
Whether you're in a newsroom, a creative agency, or launching your own project, this microcredential gives you practical, portfolio-worthy experience.
How It Works
Earn your Video Production Microcredential by completing 12 credits from the UO Multimedia Storytelling Master’s program. Courses start in the fall and can be:
- Completed in 9 months (Sept–June)
or - Spread out to fit your schedule
Best of all, your credits can fully transfer toward a Master’s in Multimedia Storytelling from the UO School of Journalism and Communication.

- JCOM 627 Video Production I (2 credits, fall)
- JCOM 628 Video Production II (2 credits, fall)

Community Podcasting Microcredential

How It Works
