Biography

Yanfei (she/her) is a scholar and researcher in the field of communication and media studies with a focus on the ethical challenges and privacy implications of emerging technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence. With a robust foundation in media studies and practical experience in network security, Yanfei has worked extensively in both academic and professional settings.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Wuhan University, Yanfei pursued a master’s degree in communication at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, where her research focused on the ethics of technology and rumor dissemination. Yanfei later worked as a senior researcher at the China Telecom Research Institute, where she explored issues of information security, privacy, and AI technologies.

At the University of Oregon, Yanfei is dedicated to investigating the complex interaction between technology, privacy, and societal norms, contributing to both theoretical knowledge and practical solutions in the evolving information landscape.
