Originating from Ghana, West Africa, Benedict Owusu has more than 12 years of professional experience as a sports broadcast journalist. His career includes extensive coverage of major international events, such as the FIFA World Cup (2014, 2022),Commonwealth Games (Birmingham 2022), African Games (Congo Brazzaville 2015), and Africa Cup of Nations (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023). He was recognized as Ghana's Best Sports Journalist by the Ghana Journalists Association for three consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017).
Benedict holds a diploma in communication studies (journalism), a bachelor of arts in communication studies (public relations), a master’s in media management, and a second master’s in international development (sports). His research interests focus on social media use in sports communication, sports brand management, and sports marketing. He aspires to contribute to the academic field as a change agent, utilizing social media tools in sports communication and reporting.
