Amanda Harrington studied radio/television/film at San Jose State University and earned a master's degree in broadcast electronic communication arts from San Francisco State University. She gained video production experience from teaching studio production, working with producers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and creating a media literacy project for children. She has since taught classes in both the academic and the creative, technical perspectives of mass media.

Amanda’s current interest areas include teaching, participatory culture, identity expression, and disabled representation in traditional media. She is excited to find creative avenues to bring her academic research to diverse communities.
