Posting Oregon Update to jcomm.uoregon.edu
Step by step instructions for posting the Oregon News updates to jcomm.uoregon.edu/oregonnews/updates
Recording the video using the streamer
- In the CEMC, make certain deck 9 in the rack is on.
- Go to the "streamer" computer in the back of the rack in the CEMC.
- Double click the file on the desktop called "h264 24fps at 480x320"
- When the time comes to broadcast and record the video, click the Broadcast button.
- When your broadcast is complete, click the Stop button.
Editing the video you just recorded
- Locate the video you just recorded. It should on the desktop and be labeled "OregonNews.mov".
- Open the video in Quicktime.
- Set your in and out points (the I and O keys make it easy)
- Choose Edit, Trim Selection
- Choose File, Export
- From the Export menu, choose Movie to MPEG-4
- Click the Options button
- On the video tab, set the file format at the top to MP4
- From the video format menu, choose Pass Through
- Click on the Audio tab
- From the audo format menu, choose Pass Through
- Click on the Streaming tab
- Check the Enable Streaming and Optimize for server check boxes.
- Click OK.
- Give the file a name and make sure it ends with .mp4.
- Click Save
Posting the file to jcomm.uoregon.edu/oregonnews/updates
- Start Firefox.
- Go to http://jcomm.uoregon.edu/oregonnews/updates
- Log in.
- Choose Add to Folder, File.
- Give the file a title.
- Click browse and select the video file you just created in the previous set of steps.
- Click upload.
- Once uploaded, click on the state menu and choose Publish.
