Recording the video using the streamer

1. In the CEMC, make certain deck 9 in the rack is on.
2. Go to the "streamer" computer in the back of the rack in the CEMC.
3. Double click the file on the desktop called "h264 24fps at 480x320"
4. When the time comes to broadcast and record the video, click the Broadcast button.
5. When your broadcast is complete, click the Stop button.

Editing the video you just recorded

1. Locate the video you just recorded. It should on the desktop and be labeled "OregonNews.mov".
   
2. Open the video in Quicktime.
3. Set your in and out points (the I and O keys make it easy)
4. Choose Edit, Trim Selection
5. Choose File, Export
6. From the Export menu, choose Movie to MPEG-4
7. Click the Options button
8. On the video tab, set the file format at the top to MP4
9. From the video format menu, choose Pass Through
10. Click on the Audio tab
11. From the audo format menu, choose Pass Through
12. Click on the Streaming tab
13. Check the Enable Streaming and Optimize for server check boxes.
14. Click OK.
15. Give the file a name and make sure it ends with .mp4.
16. Click Save

Posting the file to jcomm.uoregon.edu/oregonnews/updates

1. Start Firefox.
2. Go to http://jcomm.uoregon.edu/oregonnews/updates
3. Log in.
4. Choose Add to Folder, File.
5. Give the file a title.
6. Click browse and select the video file you just created in the previous set of steps.
7. Click upload.
8. Once uploaded, click on the state menu and choose Publish.
