Katie Cornell

Associate Editor

Katie Cornell will graduate in June 2008 with a bachelor of arts in journalism magazine. Hailing from Alamo, California, she left suburbia behind in 2004 to explore what the Northwest had to offer. After acclimating to some unpredictable weather and accepting that she couldn't pump her own gas, Cornell discovered rewarding experiences at the University of Oregon and in the Eugene community. She interned at Eugene Weekly in 2007, where she wrote music reviews, and currently continues as a freelance writer for the local publication. Cornell also lived in Los Angeles, where she became addicted to her asthma inhaler (thanks to the smog) and wrote about eccentric people and things for an online magazine. As of now, Cornell focuses on writing about subcultures. She believes they reveal a lot about people's tastes in life for music, fashion, ideologies and, yes, even the occasional cat show. As for the everyday, Cornell enjoys spending time with friends, running, and reading everything from novels to blogs.
