Shawna Xiayun Huang's major is advertising, emphasizing on creativity. Currently, she is involved with the University of Oregon's ad team, working as a designer for the Oregon Daily Emerald, a web/graphic designer for CASpages, which handles all UO departments, and is doing some freelance work and painting on the side. Huang has worked with Allen Hall Advertising as an art director, as the Asian Pacific American Student Union's Off Yello magazine editor, and as the Clark Honors College creative journal's art director, among other design jobs. She will graduate this spring and plans on going to China for thesummer, then coming back to work as a buyer for corporate Fred Meyer. However, her focus lies in art, design, and "all that artsy fartsy stuff." She wants to own her own gallery, start a graphic design company, and open a boutique. Huang plans on continuing to enhance her skills in design and hopes to one day attend Parson's in New York for graduate school.
