Blake Hamilton

Photographer

Blake Hamilton, a student at the University of Oregon, spends most of his time with a camera. At the UO he studies journalism and Spanish. He has ambitions to travel the world and leave a lasting impact on those he encounters and those who view his work. Next year he will spend the year abroad learning Spanish. At age fifteen, Hamilton's eyes were opened. Exploring the coast of Baja, California exposed him to a way of life he had not yet seen in the media. Tin shacks and one-bread-winner communities were among a few of his experiences. Later that year he was introduced to black and white photography and the darkroom. Since then the camera has become an extended limb. Photography is the medium in which Hamilton hopes to make a living. As a journalist he is concerned with issues of poverty and education. He wants to expose and educated the masses about the ills that do not make the daily news. Currently Hamilton is trying to get his company, Laughing Buddha Productions, off the ground. He acquired the nickname "Buddha" when he was a kid because of his good nature and big buddha belly. Please visit lbp.blake.com to look at current work.
