When University of Oregon senior Liz Balaesh isn't devouring one of the nine magazines she subscribes to, she's probably hiking with her dog Marley or trying a new restaurant in her eclectic hometown of Portland. Raised by first generation Romanian immigrants, Balaesh is bilingual and always looking to learn more about her own native culture as well as a plethora of others. She enjoys writing and reading about food, fashion and travel and confesses celebrity gossip is her guilty pleasure. Balaesh's passion for magazines was truly realized after a summer internship with Portland Monthly magazine, where she actually grew quite fond of fact-checking lengthy features. Upon graduation she plans on traveling to Europe and working on her mother's biography while pursuing a career in magazine journalism.
