Lindsay Funston immersed herself in the fast-paced magazine scene this term as the editor in chief of Flux. She thrives on the collaborative nature of magazine publishing and plans to climb the editorial chain at a national magazine after graduation. A magazine journalism major and women's studies minor, Lindsay will head to the Big Apple this summer for an internship with Real Simple magazine. She started her journalism career freelance reporting for the University's student newspaper, the Oregon Daily Emerald, where she later served as a news reporter and the arts and entertainment editor, fueling her love for interviewing celebrities. Last spring, Lindsay traveled to Italy to intern with Tuscany's lifestyle magazine, where she interviewed American actress Rose McGowan for the cover story. She also regularly contributes to Newsweek's nationally circulated Current magazine. Aside from journalism, her interests include traveling, health, snowboarding, and her Puggle, Lu.
