Guest Spreakers: The 2008 Payne Award Winners
Wednesday May 7th, 7 p.m.
Coming up on Wed. May 7th, we will host the 2008 Payne Award winners Ashley Gough (Mount Observer), Gary Graham (Spokesman-Review) and Michael Lacey (Phoenix New Times). Come hear their stories of how they stood for ethics when they were under pressure to break them. We will have free pizza and pop for everyone! We'll meet in Allen room 307 at 7 p.m. Click here for more information on the Payne Awards.
Tour of The Register-Guard
Wednesday May 14th, 1:30 pm
If you would like to tour a professional newsroom, mark your calendars! On Wednesday, May 14th, at 1:30 p.m., SPJ will be given a private tour of our local newspaper, The Register-Guard.
We need to know a definite head count by Wednesday, May 7th, so we can let them know how many of us to expect, and also so we can coordinate rides.
This is a great opportunity for everyone, no matter what your emphasis or area of interest is, to get a real-life, out-of-the-classroom experience. Hope to see you there!
To RSVP, e-mail UO SPJ Vice President Rebecca Gelbart at rgelbart@uoregon.edu by May 7th.
