those who seek to advance their careers in literary journalism, feature
writing, book-length nonfiction, and other forms of literary nonfiction.
- Strategic Communication - The Professional Master's Degree in Strategic Communication is designed for working professionals in the Portland area.
- Communication and Society - While our professional master's programs aim primarily to teach
advanced skills in preparation for employment and leadership in the
media and communication industries, our Communication and Society
M.A./M.S. program is aligned with our doctoral program in exposing
students to a wide range of ideas concerning the structure, function
and role of communication in society.
- Doctoral Program - The doctoral program trains candidates to do research on a broad array
of interdisciplinary questions related to communication and society. It
emphasizes an appreciation of both quantitative and qualitative
methodologies, along with a strong emphasis on preparation for teaching
in the context of higher education.
