Biography:
Background
Koranda brings more than 20 years of experience in advertising to the school. He has worked on local, regional, national and international campaigns. Among his many awards are the McDonald’s Media Award of Excellence; the 7-UP "Best in the West"; and the Mid-Oregon Ad Club Award of Excellence. In 2002 he was awarded the Jonathan Marshall Awards for innovative teaching. He is currently Chief Media Detective and proprietor of Koranda Communications, a media planning and buying service. He also consults with ad agencies and media companies.
Research
Koranda uses qualitative and quantitative data to assess the evolving nature of media patterns. He is currently working the crumbling wall between news and advertising and the development of a new language for and way to measure media isage beyond reach and frequency.
