On-Air Talent

• Anchors (News and Sports desk) Former experience with Duck U mandatory. Awarded primarily based on seniority.
• Reporters (News and Sports) Must have completed J330. Must be able to construct a compelling news or sports package and deliver it on-air with confidence and charisma.
• Hosts (For individual segments, and for Duck U as a whole) Hosts positions will be awarded based on charisma, confidence and creativity.
• Actors Must be able to act convincingly in a comedic and/or dramatic role.

Producers

Producers for each segment are responsible for completing their segment on a weekly basis and for keeping its content fresh and entertaining. To reach these goals, producers must be extremely organized, reliable, and responsible, as well as highly creative and open-minded. If you are interested in producing a segment, please come to auditions with either a pilot episode and/or be ready to present the layout of your segment.

 

Editors

Editors are responsible for putting together a segment's footage into a final product. Must be very familiar with Final Cut Pro. J331 recommended.

 

Camera Operator

Must have completed J330 or have prior experience in camera-work. We offer training on the equipment.

 

Lighting/Sound Technician

Journalism Major / Pre-Major preferred. Responsible for the quality of lighting and/or sound in a particular segment.

 

Studio Crew

J330 Required. The studio crew works during the News and Sports studio shoots and is responsible for the operation of studio cameras, teleprompter and other equipment.

 

Master Editor

Responsible for combining all of the finished segments each week to assemble the final show. Must be very familiar with Final Cut Pro.

 

Advertising Director

Responsible for producing the advertisements that will air on Duck U. Experience in advertising preferred.

 

Graphics Specialist

We need people to do things like key out blue-screen shots, design graphics and effects for segments, create intros for segments, and other graphic arts-related tasks. Must be proficient in video-editing and graphic design software.

 

Web Specialist

Responsible for updating this website on a weekly basis.
