The students are part of an on-going SOJC summer program, "Environmental Writing in the Galapagos," directed by SOJC Associate Professor Carol Ann Bassett. UNESCO declared the Galapagos endangered as a World Heritage Site June 22, 2007, the same day the students arrived in Ecuador.
